This is pecan time of year in southern Louisiana.   My DH brought home a bag of unshelled pecans and I've been opening them with ease.  The shells are paper thin and most are coming out whole.  I've only had a few bad ones.  So far I've filled 2 jars full and have 1/3 of the bag left to go.
