Scrapbooking Rehab

I went to a local scrapbooking event near my home over the past 3 days and the theme was Scrapbooking Rehab.
It really tickled me because my dear sister, after listening to me excessively talk about products and tools for scrapbooking, will tell me, "The doctor will see you now."   So freaking funny.
Anyhow I've been enjoying scrapbooking for about 17 years with no chance of rehabilitating in the future.  It is therapy.   The best part of scrapbooking is the comradeship I share with a great group of girl friends that spans multiple ages and backgrounds.  At events like this we get a t-shirt, a new scrapbooking tool, chances to win door prizes a few times a day, participate in contests and workshops, do make-and-takes, exchange gifts and give each other little happies.  Oh yeah, and we usually scrapbook too!

Happy Scrapfest Birthday To Me

This year, 2012, I was able to celebrate my birthday with my scrapbooking friends at our local semi-annual Scrapfest.   The ladies at my table spoiled me rotten with balloons, party hats, cake, cards and gifts.   I just had a blast celebrating my 59th birthday.  Thanks girls.

We had two big winners at our table....Rachel won $30 in Scrappy Cash and Lori won a stamp making machine.

Some of us even managed to do some scrapbooking.

Scrapfest! Fall 2011

Scrapfest! is over and I've fully recuperated.   I worked on scrapbooking the pictures from earlier this year when my aunt and her daughter came to visit my Mama.   I bought 3 kits from one of my favorite vendors, Treasured Memories, which made the fun go quicker because the design elements were already done.

Using left overs from one of the kits, I was able to scrapbook a day trip this summer to the Saints Training Camp and a trip to the snowball stand.

Our group of "apron ladies" did a make-and-take together which was captured on camera, of course.
Here are a few of the make-and-takes we made during Scrapfest!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day 2011

I completed these scrapbook pages over a month ago at Scrapfest but waited to post them for today's National Scrapbooking Day. I used pictures from my Gulf Shores family vacations in 2008 and 2009.

Now just recently I made this fleur de lis page using a new "metal" technique I learned from Lori, a scrapbooking buddy of mine. She learned the technique in a class at Scrapfest given by an employee of Treasured Memories, a scrapbook store in Lafayette, Louisiana.

It is hard to tell but the photo shows my funny Illinois relatives, Pat and Judy, holding crystal Fleur de Lis ornaments up to their ears like earrings. The ornaments were a souvenir from their trip to New Orleans in 2009.

Here is a scrapbook page I made at Treasured Memories. They taught me how to make 3-D flowers using paper, ribbon and fabric. Very cool.

Archiver's in Buford Georgia

I spent a week in Atlanta visiting family and enjoying peeking in to their daily lives. It really brought back a lot of memories of the time when I was raising my children. I was able to visit a BIG scrapbooking store in Buford, Georgia called Archiver's. I bought all this stuff but I've been too busy to play with them yet.

I have two workshops to put together for the spring Scrapfest but here is a sneak peek at one of them in the beginning stage:
